The reason why this research was conducted, was to analyze the individual perception of safety and how it can vary with a variety of parameters that come into the picture.
The initial objectives of the study were to find and analyze the role of urban planning professionals in curbing the spread of COVID-19 in the context of the spread through contact in open, public, and common commercial spaces and recreational areas.
Further objectives included identification and mapping out the principal public spaces that may be major players in the transport of COVID-19 and then comparing and contrasting various safety methods used in the public spaces and their collective influence in curbing the spread.
Some major limitations faced by this study were the number of samples taken and the scale and methods adopted for conducting the survey. Yet, this was the best that could be worked out despite all constraints during the COVID-19 pandemic and complete lockdown.
